I just wanted to give a rave for Black Bottle. New-ish restaurant in Belltown, in the old "Two Dagos from Texas" space - here's hoping it's not cursed.
Man, is that place good (& a very good deal, if not quite a steal as, say, Carta de Oaxaca). My wife and I have been there twice and everything has been excellent. Last night we had the antipasti, the "links and rocket" (great sausages, rolled in mustard, with a mercifully undressed arugala salad), the mussels (wow! terrific, spicy broth), and a dense, floral coconut pannacotta for dessert.
Tab with 2 tanquerays for her and a more-than-generous grey goose martini for me was $57 before tip.
I just saw that it got a good writeup in the P-I (not that that means squat, but I hope it gets them over the hump).
