A quick report and a big thanks to Evan for this child-friendly suggestion. Went for Saturday lunch this weekend. When I got there, there was no one else dining (a group of 3 came in around 2PM). We had the front-room to ourselves. Lily was lovely and hospitable, she brought my daughter crayons and a book to keep her busy. There was a lot of commotion from the kitchen on and off throughout our meal -- loud voices and arguing amongst the staff (I think she said they were her kids).
The food was wonderful. Even their bread and herbed oil was terrific. I'd like to know what's in the oil it... tastes amazing. My husband and I both had daily specials. He had a roast pressed chicken and I had a spaghetti with chicken, field mushrooms (morels mostly) and truffle oil. My daughter had the fettucini Alfredo (which I tried of course). The handmade noodles in my daughter's fettucini were perfect. Everything about the food was fabulous. Even though there was 'no room' left we all shared the chocolate lasagna.
Our meal was great and we would come again for dinner. However, lunch-time lacked the atmosphere and the menu was the same one used for dinner (thus no price-break). I generally don't like spending $18 for a lunch entree, but am glad I made the exception and tried Perche'No. I wanted to keep this to myself... but how can I not share it with the helpful Chowhounds... Perche'No is currently on restaurant.com. A $25 coupon can be purchased for $5. A great savings and a good incentive to give this a try (or go back for more!).
