It's been recommended before, but not recently so I thought I'd refresh it: Dish Cafe is extremely good. They are open only for breakfast and lunch. Especially good is anything they make with potatoes, including the corned beef hash. You can actually taste delicious potatoes in there, it's uncanny-and perhaps this is seaonsal?

Also recommeded a long time ago as less yuppie alternatives, Vera's and Wild Mountain. I tried them: Vera's was simply awful, the lamest everything including raw shredded potatoes in a patty and dishwater coffee. Wild Mountain was a nicer place to set foot in, and the food was not offensive, but it wasn't anything to recommend either. Mac and Chesse tasted like Mac and Cream, and who wants that? Eggs benedict, ok, but served on a very very damp limp muffin.
Dish Cafe would be outstanding anywhere in the country.
