The meat was good, the sauce was great, yet my beef brisket sandwich was not that enjoyable. Why? The horrible bun they put it on.
Where I'm from, a good BBQ sandwich would be on a soft, bakery-fresh potato roll, not a plain hamburger bun that has been sitting in bulk in a large plastic container for however many days. The bun wasn't rotten or anything, just not all that fresh.
Also, the coleslaw was not good at all. I prefer a nice, creamy mustard slaw that can go right on the sandwich! (I enjoy cutting the sandwich in half, eating one half with just the meat and bun, the other half would be the meat, the mustard slaw, and the bun.)
Anyway, those are my thoughts. If you ever get to southern California and want REALLY good BBQ, try Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ, a local chain that is INCREDIBLE! Here's their website: http://www.lucillesbbq.com/
