Tried this restaurant for the first time over the weekend. We had skipped lunch that day and did not have a reservation, so we arrived very early for dinner- about 5:30pm- so the place was empty. Just from the name of the place, I thought the restaurant would be more casual, but it is quite upscale inside. Great service- started with baked brie appetizer (yum), artisan cheeses, and had the roasted chicken stuffed with cheese/spinach as my entree. I never order chicken in restaurants, but for some reason had a craving. This was superb- the chicken was great, but the best part was the sour cream mashed potatoes and the tomato butter sauce. I would have eaten cardboard dipped in the sauce. My DC had the special- mahi mahi (I think) served with crab. I thought the crab and sauce were good but a bit too sweet, but he cleared his plate without complaint.
2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 3 glasses of wine = $100 (not including tip). Very good deal for the quality of food and service we received, IMO. We finished and left around 7pm, and unfortunately, the restaurant was still frighteningly empty. Not sure how they or any place could stay open with such little traffic on a Saturday. Maybe it was swamped by 8? I hope so- go out and get some good food to keep this place and others like it open!!!
