This little place serves 'Southern gourmet,' including excellent hot sandwiches like the Chardonnay Beef: warm roast beef on a big bun topped with mushrooms soaked in Chardonnay. Good salads and daily specials that range from Jambalaya pasta to veggie lasagna. Pecan-encrusted pan-fried chicken breast or excellent large catfish filets (prepared in the same way, except wityh more corn meal than breadcrumbs) are big winners, well worth the $6-$7 price tag. Entrees come with choice of sides, which are good. Sweet spiced apples, broccoli medley salad, garlic home fries, potato salad, etc. Tea is good, too.

They do a brisk lunch business, and are open for breakfast and weekend dinners, too. On 56th just south of Fowler in a strip mall. My only wish is that they did some BBQ, too!

well worth the price.
