We decided to try Something Savory, on Mass Ave. in Arlington, after reading a piece on the place in the Globe. We've now had dinner there three times in the last couple of weeks and regard the place as a real Chowhound-worthy find.
For apps, we've enjoyed crab cakes(all crab, no filler), cod and conch fritters, and a couple of interesting takes on soups, all nicely spiced.
I liked the curried chicken rotie so much the first time that I ordered it again on our next visit. Just last Thursday, I had an outragreously good goat curry thatwas better than I had ever had in the islands. On our first visit, my wife ordered a dish that was a Caribbean take on polenta, served with a great sauce and and topped with mushrooms. I'm glad that I had to help her finish it. On our last visit, she loved the scallops.
The place is run by a very nice couple, Johnny Levins and his wife, Jody. While Levins does the cookingshe runs the front with a great deal of style and charm.In shoort, Something Savory is truly something wonderful.
