Parents live out in an off-the-path area of Brooklyn known as Marine Park. I'm heading out tonight for a visit. To say the least, dining options are very limited out there, but they have a car, and are willing to travel short distances.
Tonight they suggested we go to Outback, to which I voiced my complete disgust. After lecturing me for being a snob about my pleas that we go ANYWHERE else, they told me that I was welcome to suggest someplace near where I live or that has decent parking as an alternative.
My sister hates Chinese food. They had Sushi yesterday. My dad is allergic to dairy and shellfish. They don't want to break the bank.
I live in the Slope, and might suggest Applewood or Stone Park as alternates, even though the parking is very difficult. My sister is recovering from knee surgery, so walking is a factor.
Though I am praying that better judgement prevails and we go to the lovely local joint Michael's instead, can anyone suggest a place with good parking and good steak/american food that I can talk my family into patronizing instead of some godawful chain swill joint? Thanks in advance.
(oh, and don't suggest Peter Luger. I did. To them, it's too far and too expensive. They won't go into Manhattan, either.)
