Saturday Dinner in NoVa/DC - Looking for Recs

Hello DC 'Hounds...My wife and I are coming in to town for the weekend (from Boston) to visit with my parents who live in Annandale. We've never really had the opportunity to eat out very often when we're visiting, but this Saturday is my wife's Birthday, and her mother is in town for a conference, so I'd like to go out for a nice (not necessarily extravagant) dinner.

Most of the diners are pretty flexible/adventurous. The only major dietary restriction is that my father is vegetarian, so we're definitely looking for something vegetarian friendly. My inclination is towards something Middle Eastern/Mediterranean....We've gone to Zaytinya before, which was great - also because my parents tend to prefer small plates/small portions. I doubt we'd be able to get in there easily on a Saturday night, and of course, I love to try new places, so if there are other good Middle Eastern/Mediterranean places that are well loved please let me know. Also, I'm completely open to other suggestions as well....

As far as geography, we're willing to come into the city or stay in NoVa. I'm interested in checking out PX in Alexandria for cocktails, so if there are some good options in that area that would be a plus.

I appreciate any and all input.

Thanks!
