Based on the recommendation in the thread cited below, I checked out Suishaya in Chinatown at lunch.
I order a sushi lunch special: four pieces of sushi, and a tuna maki, plus a cup of Miso, for $11. The sushi was OK at best. It was acceptable. The presentation was poor: a couple pieces of the fish were broken/ripped. The service was subpar, but let's give them a "by" on that one and assume that's part of the charm.
The point of posting this was to recommend Sakura Bana on Broad Street instead. It is a little farther away from Ginza, but they also have lunch specials that keep the cost down, and the fish and service has always been better there. Also, Sakura used to have (haven't checked in a while) dinner specials on Monday-Wednesday nights, or some such mid-week timeframe.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has tried the Korean food at Suishaya, as that may be their forte.
