SAN DIEGO visit with taste but no car

I will be attending a conference at the Convention Center and staying downtown the first week in April. Good things have been reported in these threads about Cafe Cerise, Chive, Bandar, Aqua al 2, Greystone, and Blue Point Costal Cuisine, all of which are downtown, I believe. Would y'all be willing to rate them in terms of value-for-money please? Also, any good v-f-m places downtown that I have overlooked?

Second, a list of places that I would like to go to, and I wonder if any can be reached by trolley: Georges at the Cove, Parallel 33, lots of places on Convoy Ave. (Boo Cho BBQ, Emerald Seafood, etc.), Ba Ren, Roppongi and Fresh(happy hours), Marine Room, and Phil's BBQ (for comparative purposes). If any of these are within a half mile of a trolley stop, could someone please give directions and days the rest. is closed, if any. Also, please note if any of these are California Close (5 mi.?) to downtown. They might be worth collecting a few people and sharing a cab round trip.
