Saigon Banh Mi - and how a little sandwich made my day

A woman I work with who's third gen born n' raised CT resident, and knows what a chowhound I am - decided out of the blue to pick me up a "bow" (banh mi) at Saigon this morn! she gave it to me at 11:00 and my idea to save for lunch lasted until 11:05. MAN - they are so tasty!!! the savory garlic mayo concoction, spicy chili, and salty tangy pork is still lingering on my palette, and the crispy crunching of the various textures still ringing in my ears! the banh mi at Saigon (in the E Bway Mall) are so great, better than ever!

and last night's sesame pancake with beef at Dumpling House on Eldridge was especially tasty. I ordered some Kim Chee and I guess they wanted to clean out the jar because they gave me 2 huge orders for $1 ! (enough to last a month)

feelin like a lucky dawg today :-)
