Yeah...its the second time in less than week. I have a one track mind. The whole week I was thinking about (and missing) my meal from the previous Saturday. We finally caved in and went again last night. We got the private booth this time! Very very romantic.

For the overall experience...Sabatino's is fast becoming one of my favorite restaurant in the city for its unpretentiousness, the quality of food, and the value.

Yesterday, we shared the Chef's cut of NY strip and the chicken cacciatore. The steak is a tremendous deal, in light of the recent explosion in cattle price-- it was 24 bucks for at least a 24 oz. strip...no bone. It was HUGE! It was a high quality cut...meaty flavor and charred nicely. It was a tad bland...that can easily be cured with salt and pepper. Its certainly not the best, but its a very very decent piece. And I believe may be one of the better (quality ) steak deals in town.

Here, its NOT a la carte. A la carte means plus 7 on each side, plus 5 on the salad, plus 5 on the soup. For the high end experience at a Gibson's or a Morton's...which I LOVE...is a once in a special while experience. But I crave steak more often than that!
Anybody know any other good steak deals out there that can help satisfy my craving?

The chicken cacciatore was another delicious entree. Once again...the portion came out huge. Several large bone in meaty pieces. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The rich sauce was very good. How is it that so many places do not know how to do chicken? I hate overly dry chicken more than anything.

And for the second time in a week...my gf and I brought food home. And we NEVER have left overs.
