Just got back from lunch at Melrose and I have to say the food was stellar AND the service was excellent as well.
The choices were three apps, three entress, and two deserts.
Appetizers were a choice of either:
Pheasant/foie gras/black truffle ravioli w/ date puree, chilled shrimp and tomato bisque, or a salad w/ goat cheese and basil vinaigrette.
Entrees were a choice of either:
Lacquered Salmon w/ wasabi potato puree & baby bok choy, maninated duck breast w/ duck confit fried potato & summer squash puree, or ricotta & marscapone gnocchi w/ red beet & radicchio pesto.
For desert it was either a blueberry/lime crumble w/ coconut ice cream or chocolate bread pudding with chocolate sorbet.
We were able to sample most everything and everyone agreed that all dishes were very good. The standouts were the salad, ravioli, duck, and blueberry/lime crumble.
Melrose truly did not cut corners during restaurant week. I ate at a few other restaurants during the last RW and was underwhelmed. I'm glad that Melrose did such a great job with the RW promotion.
