Russells is on thatcher just off of north avenue. Zim, i can appreciate your apprehension, my wife is not that keen on the place.
First of all, do not expect any pink "smoke ring" in the ribs. All charcol, no wisps of hickory. Second, do not expect any bite in the sauce. It's a lot closer to open pit than to say, robinsons.
That said, i still like the place. The slab of back ribs is large, tender and just greasy enough to enjoy. The sauce works as a foil to the ribs not a force on its own. The sauce goes well with the onion rings too. Plus, great cole slaw in those fast disolving paper cups and little pickle slices.
If you've ever been to the old Boobies in Niles, you'll know the ribs.
