Rosco's Big Dog---Hartford

Just wanted to drop a post that I've visited Rosco's Big Dog on Franklin Ave. in Hartford this weekend.

I really enjoyed it! I had the CC Rider which was a dog with EXCELLENT meat sauce, yellow mustard and shredded cheese. The meat sauce wasn't like chili and had the consistency of American taco meat. It was delicious!

My partner had a dog with the "hot" relish and onions. She very much enjoyed it.

The Belgian fries were browned really nicely but were totally soft in the middle.

We did speak to the owner who was very cool and genuinely interested in our thoughts on his food. I told him I loved my dog but the fries were too limp. He suggested ordering them well done in the future, as many others have complained that they were too crisp in the past, he's adjusted how they're cooked to appease the masses.

Oddly, when asked how she liked the hot relish, my partner said, "I liked it but it wasn't really hot" and Ron the owner said, "it's not supposed to be". We were not sure what that meant. She still liked it, but wanted more kick!

check it out...keep them in business...GREAT product...GREAT DOGS!
