We find ourselves going out to eat just once a week these days and when its not good, its VERY disappointing b/c we have a week to wait to dine out again. I absolutely HATE wasting a meal on bad food. Have had 2 excellent experiences the last 2 weeks to share.
Flora in Arlington. Had the special which was a fish called Jon Dory (also called Sainte Pierre). Was pan fried in lemon butter served over sauteed greens and some kind of pea bean. Was the sweetest fish I've ever had. Crispy on the outside and tender sweet on the inside. For appetizer had a salad w ham, pecorino on field greens w lemon vinaigrette. Companions had the duck and the swordfish which they also raved about.
Omygod, so good.
Franklin Cape Ann. My second time here and keeps getting better. The grilled calamari appetizer has been raved about on this board before and so it should . Had an interesting, different bouillabaise. Was a crispy talapia over mussels and a few potatoes in a delicious sauce I couldn't begin to describe. Served w a large grilled crouton. Bread before the meal was warm w a crunchy crust and served w hummus. Husband had the pumpkin ravioli.Yum. Service and atmosphere warm and inviting.
Where shall we go next week to keep up the trend??
