Roberto Passon Dinner Review

10 of us went yesterday. We had a 7:30pm reservation, but they could not accomodate us until 8pm, after the pre-theater crowd left. I wish they had not accepted a reservation if that were the case. There is no place to wait, except on the sidewalk bec. rest. is so small. Well I'm glad it did not pour as originally predicted. They were not particularly nice about it. One of us went in periodically to check and were told not ready yet.

On to the food which was good. This was not a sharing crowd, unfortunately. :<( Any way I had the beef carpaccio and pasta with lamb ragu. Both very good. Lamb was very tender and the sauce was great. I am a huge lamb fan and this screamed lamb with every bite. Next time I will try the lamb shank. Others had: crabcakes, octupus, caesar salad with anchovies, mozzeralla cheese with tomatoes, and portebello mushrooms for apps and veal shank, seafood pasta, branzino fish deboned table side with a side of escarole (very nice this I had a little of), lamb shank, sirloin steak, mushroom risotto which looked very soupy, but my friend said he liked it and some other pasta dishes. Everyone was happy and stuffed so no room for dessert.

Food is good and prices were moderate so I would definitely go back. But on the downside seating was a little cramped and they were busy even post-theater so we were always flagging down our waiter for something or other. Tables are close together and we were set up as a long table in the middle of the dining room.
