Roast Pig Rocks at Arlington Greek Festival

A couple of friends and I met Taralli at the Arlington Greek Festival at noon today and it was lucky we did because she told us that this is the only Greek Festival around with roast pig. We all ordered it and it was heavenly -- tender, moist and tasty flesh, crispy, well-seasoned skin. MMMMMMMMMMM. A generous portion came with rice and salad for $15. Loads of other stuff available as well -- roast lamb, chicken and lamb skewers, gyros, Greek sausage, grape leaves (we shared an order and they were excellent, rice and meat stuffing). Beautiful desserts as well, I have no sweet tooth but tried something Taralli got with nuts and syrup that was very tasty and my friends got something that was fresh out of the deep fryer that they liked. Wine, retsina and beer as well as soft drinks. A very nice man made us Greek coffees to order that were just the thing after all that food.

It's open till 10 tonight, I think they said the band starts at 6 -- they said the place was hopping last night and they expect it to be busier tonight. It's open again tomorrow from 10 till 8 (I think, might close earlier). I suspect I'll go back for lunch tomorrow, email me if you want to meet up. It was terrific to meet Taralli, would love to meet other 'hounds.
