Richmond

I ate at Richmond on Balboa around 7th Ave. last night and want to highly recommend it to readers of this board. The place was very quiet, albeit on a Monday night, and I left a tad concerned about this place's longevity. It would be a shame to see them close, because it's a wonderful restaurant. The place itself is serene and inviting, and it's a small and welcoming operation. We were started with an amuse of salmon mouse, and I followed that with a carrot and beet salad with a goat cheese stuffed filo pastry. My partner had the blue cheese salad. Then it was the vegetable napoleon for her and the cheeseburger with fries for me. My partner absolutely raved about hers, and mine was one of the better burgers I've had in the city. At around $10, it was also an amazing bargain, served with a healthy portion of fries and homemade toppings (aoli, mustard, and ketchup). We each had a drink but skipped dessert. Total came to about $55 before tip.

We loved it and will most definitely be back.
