Rice (Logan Circle) Review

Tried this new Thai restaurant on Friday night. It's located on 14th street between Q and R. Definitely impressed by the service and the space (very minimalist). That being said (because of the bare walls and hard surfaces), I think it was the loudest restaurant I've ever eaten in. Normally noise does not bother me, but I really felt as though I wanted to stick my fingers in my ears it was so loud. I would recommend you try this place during the week or during off hours if you want to be able to converse. The food, however, was excellent. A warning though...it is more expensive than typical Thai restaurants. Entrees were twelve dollars and up. Wines are $7/glass. The entree/appetizer selections are also different from typical Thai restaurants, which makes me think this place is especially authentic. In addition, don't expect to get the portion sizes that you typically get in other Thai restaurants -- they were much smaller. But, the freshness of the veggies and the flavors definitely made up for the lack in quantity. The rice is also great...it comes in different colors and flavors...very fun! All in all, a very nice addition to the neighborhood.
