RF O'Sullivan's, Union Square Bakery, True Grounds, Wang's

I ate at RF O'Sullivan's in Somerville for the first time last night. My friend and I arrived at 7, were told the wait was about 30 mins. We each had a beer while we waited (standing up), it was pretty crowded. Our wait was exactly 30 mins (the guy in charge seemed to know what he was doing). My friend ordered the black and blue burger (with half onion rings and half fries). I had the Patty O'Melt burger with just onion rings. The burgers themselves were very good, plenty of meat, perfectly cooked. The toppings were pretty lame (they charge extra for lettuce, tomato, etc.)....the fried onions on mine were not very fried or very plentiful, not much cheese either. I might as well have ordered just a hamburger, since that's basically what I had. But it is definitely a great hamburger! Onion rings were also excellent! I didn't try the fries.

I had lunch/snack at Union Square Bakery (Brazilian bakery) today. It was pretty gross outside, and I was excited to see Caldo Verde on the menu. Sadly, they didn't have it today, so I tried the chicken soup instead. It was tasty, but not amazing. Shredded chicken, bits of corn and not much else in a chicken/cilantro broth. The pastry filled with chicken and cheese was tasty but also not the best I've had in Somerville...some of the Brazilian supermarkets have nicer ones. Service was super friendly though, and lots of the other options looked great.

I really like True Grounds in Ball Sq for coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast and snacks. Today I had the hot cocoa (nice cocoa taste, topped with whipped cream). They have free wireless internet and really good breakfast sandwiches (I had egg and bacon on a bagel last time I went for breakfast).

I had dinner at Wang's tonight with a friend visiting from Maine. We shared the seaweed salad (generous portion, SUPER garlicky, very good), 8 Spice Noodle Soup (pork and beef? with peanuts, edamame, water chestnut and 8 spices with noodles, bok choi and a spicy broth) and an order of pork and leek dumplings (fantastic as always). There was no one there at 6 PM when we went, but it was totally full by 7 when we left.

The weekend is only half over though....I need to try to eat a bit less tomorrow :)
