Reviews of Bouley, Lupa, and Craft

Yes, I had a very good (lucky) week. Bouley was outstanding as usual. Started w/the best seared foie gras in New York. Along came a cod w/truffles and mushrooms which was excellent. An extra course of Langoustines was a real treat (and surprise). And the truffle crusted rack of lamb was amazing. A few desserts and the 2.5 hr. lunch was completed.
Lupa was definitely more rustic and homey, all in a good way. Tagliatellie(sp?) w/egg,panchetta, and cheese was delicious if a little heavy. My pork shoulderw/rose petal glaze was delicious (does this guy know how to braise a piece of meat or what?). But the real surprise was the wifes tile fish. It was perfecly cooked and was in a delicate "fish"? broth that was light and refreshing (and tasty). Dessert was shared... dates w/mascarpone... excellent ending to a very good meal.
Craft has always been a mystery to me. Not anymore, today was glorious. Started w/the yellow fin tuna which was ok, but than things got real good and never stopped. Wife had the loup de mar and I the short rib. We added the morels and some crayfish risotto. Everything was delicious. Dessert was shared and again was amazing... the best french toast I've ever had along w/caramel ice cream, whipped cream and roasted bananas. the service in all 3 restaurants was outstanding. I would highly recommend all 3.
