review of great homestyle Japanese find (long)

Went to Kitchen Kura last night (1500 block of Irving St), and had a great meal at a very good price.
All meals came with a good miso soup,a little Japanese pancake appetizer(appetizer changes, I think), and iceburg lettuce salad with a nice sweet and savory dressing, plus a beverage.
The table shared fried tofu squares(delecate, crunchy, sweet, salty and delicious), fried Japanese eggplant chunks(silky and well seasoned), ginger stir-fried pork, teriyaki chichen, pork tonkatsu(very crunchy and not greasy in the slightest), their house special nanbam chicken(fried chicken nuggets, slightly spicy with a homemade chili mayonaise sauce), and udnon noodle soup. All of the food was prepared fresh, and the whole bill for four came to $37. This seems to be a family run restaurant. The food is amazng. Well worth the money and delicious.
