Another review of Custard King cafe on Mott St.

An earlier review of the place got me curious and so I decided to pop in for a taste. Ordered a regular Egg custard and a Strawberry custard. (Other flavours such as the egg white, honey dew, and banana were sold out)

I can honestly say that the regular egg custard is probably the best fresh out of the oven I ever tasted. This beats out Golden Gate in SF which WAS famous for their Egg Custards (not anymore!). The egg custard used the flaky crust instead of the breaded crust like the flavoured egg custards which is exactly my preference. The egg was sweetened well and not too over powering. The flaky crust was hot and every bite was like heaven. The strawberry custard wasn't as delicious as the regular egg custard but maybe thats because it wasn't hot out of the oven. I will try again if I know it is fresh out of the oven and report back again.

Their turn over is amazing and there always seems to be a line for their Egg custards. I am glad that a very good egg custard place has replaced Sweet-n-Tart. I will definitely be going back for more! And to all other 'hounds, get it when its hot!!! It is just that much more amazing.
