Returning to LA after a long business trip/international hiatus - seeking opinions

I'm returning from a month-long business trip in the UK, and I have a week back in LA before I take off again for another extended stay out of town. I have a few places I want to hit before I leave, and I am looking for any opinions and such to help me make the most out of my week. I have broken down my cravings into two categories - sushi and non-sushi.

Sushi - I hope to get my fair share of sushi before I leave, given London's FASCINATION with conveyor belt sushi restaurants and less than desirable prices.....I will almost certainly get to Sushi Ryo, but maybe there's another place that I can go in addition that will help satisfy my sushi yearnings and is similar to Sushi Ryo. A friend has suggested Crazy Fish (mixed reviews), so I will probably go there as a given (good company over food), but any other places I can go? Just as a reference, I've been to Nozawa, Ryo, Echigo regularly but I am OPEN for new places.

Non-Sushi - Ha ha, I've lumped everything else in here given that I am lazy to break everything else out and the point being I just want quality food before I leave again for Her Majesty's Kingdom. I think an obligatory stop and In N' Out is in order for lunch, but I wanted to know if you were in my shoes, what would you do for dinner? I haven't been to Josie, AOC, or Sona which have all been praised on this board, so I'm wondering if I can use the last night before I leave as a reason to splurge and try one of these places out? A friend has also offered to treat me to dinner at The Kitchen, which I have not tried - any suggestions there?

Sorry if this request is convoluted, just need a memory jog to think of a few places back home that I should go and eat at before I leave. Being away this long makes you really appreciate your favorite places that's for sure. Hopefully I will post my adventures in London on the Intl Board - after which I will provide a pointer.
