My mother is retiring next month after 35 years and will be visiting us in central MA shortly thereafter. We'd like to take her to dinner, and this special occasion is an excuse to head to a destination restaurant for some great dining. We don't mind driving a couple of hours if we need to, and any cost under ~$600 for four inclusive should be OK (I'll still consider suggestions that are more costly). We were thinking about Arrows, but it seems to have been panned pretty badly here (same with White Barn Inn, I guess). Is there anything in New England that is really worth the drive?
