We are returning to New Orleans for the first time since Katrina. We will be without a car and are planning to take the Canal streetcar to the art museum for the Ansel Adams show. I have eaten at Mandina's and had ice cream from Brocatto's and loved both but I understand neither is presently open. (We will arrive Thursday.) I am looking for a restaurant for lunch (something akin to Mandina's would be nice) that I could walk to from the streetcar (We both like to walk.) and then walk on to the museum. Someone suggested Liuzza's. Any comments about the restaurant or other restaurant suggestions would be welcome. Also, would there be any kind of safety factor in that area?
