RESTAURANT WEEK TEMPO A+

We had the RESTAURANT WEEK DINNER at TEMPO last night. We have been meaning to go there for a while and this was a great opportunity.

The two room restaurant is spacious and attractive. Noise level was not too loud. People were nicely dressed. No kids present.

Drinks were excellent. The passion fruit Bellino and Pomegranite Margarita were good. They start out by pouring a wonderful Sicilian Olive Oil into a dish and grinding fresh pepper into it. There is a little glass dish of sea salt crystals that bring out the flavor of the oil and the unsalted Tuscan style bread.

The Menu for Restaurant Week is wonderful. The dishes are dishes from their regular menu and the portions are large.Choice of four appetizers and four main dishes. Not like Applewood and their chintzy portions.

We both had the Moroccan Pastilla which was heavenly. Then the wild Alaskan King Salmon and the Pan Roasted Organic Chicken with preserved lemon and one of my favorites, Panisse, here called Chick pea fries. We ordered a dish of the Cavallo Nero with chorizo. Everything was first rate.

The dessert was Gelato and Sorbetto. We had the Gelato, Orange with Cardomom and Nutella. Freshly pressed at the table coffee was the perfect end to an excellent meal.

The service was professional,cordial and excellent. A fine dining experience.

Restaurant week is a wonderful opportunity to try places you haven't been before. The smarter restaurants treat it graciously and offer wonderful dishes in full portion sizes. We will definitely be back again...and again.
