First time I have had dinner during restaurant week, I think it's a great idea. $30.02 pre-fixe dinner consisted of
(all items were a Choice of 3)
red endive, mache and brie salad with granny apples and candied walnuts. very good
scallop (1) atop asparagus and shaved potatoes, also very good
oxtail and celery root ravioli none of us had this one
steamed black sea bass, very tender and tasty, had just one bite
roasted lamb atop mashed potatoes and ratouille, very good
duck in some sort of a pastry puff, had one bite and did not like at all
creme brulee, very good
blueberry with almond paste is a cake like tart, with vanilla ice cream, very good
chocolate roulade cake, also very good, much richer than the other two, but chocalate always is isn't it?
Service was very good, soliticious, but not overly so. Not rushed at all, although at 7:00 Thursday the place was very empty, only as we were finishing up and leaving around 8:30 did the place start filling up. They did not ask for our dessert order when we ordered our food as every Restaurant Week lunch place has in my past experience.
Decor was very simple, spacious tables. All in all I think it was good food and a great deal at $30 PP. Will be trying other restaurants next week for both dinner and lunch. Is this the first time that Rest. Week has been for 2 weeks? Has anyone any other rest week reports?
