"Sushi Man Won't ya hurry
Coz I'm tired of these scenes"
- with apologies to Rodriguez.
7 years ago, Sam and Amy Lin opened a Japanese and sushi restaurant in Fairfield. CT, at the former site of Mako of Japan and called it Shiki Sushi. Sam had the most incredible personality and style as well as experience, training under Hojo of Nobu, in Manhattan. He served the freshest seafood, personally picked at the South Street Seaport and the most innovative rolls and platters. He was also the most entertaining and personable chef I have ever met. The restaurant was wildly successful. All of the regulars would only order omikase. We joked that Sam could read the menu orders on our foreheads. People would often come from Sam's former restaurant in Queens and join the rest of the regulars at the bar.
And then Sam disappeared.
Amy worked there for a few weeks, and then her cousin took over. No one would tell us where Sam went.
Now 5 years later, we miss him so much, that several of us in Fairfield CT area believe that we have to find him. We will only search for him if he is working openly in the restaurant business as his former patrons from Queens followed him to CT.
Does anyone know where he went? I am guessing her runs a Sushi bar somewhere in or near NYC. Everyone there will know Sam as the best and funniest sushi chef they have known.
If he is working in the sushi business and you know where he is, please let us know!
