Awhile ago I asked for suggestions in the West Village or Tribeca. My wife rejected all the suggestions and we went to Market Table on carmine Stwhich had been suggested by a friend. It was a great choice.
For a starter we shared a side of Charred Brussels Sprouts with bacon, sage and pickled apples. This dish was incredible. Then we each ordered the Flounder, served with parsnip puree, golden beets, and Brussels Sprouts. This dish was outstanding. We finished the night off by sharing a fine, fine, super fine blackberry and peach pie. I think it came with crema sorbet. We arrived at Market Table at 6 PM. By 7:30 when it was dark outside, it was very dark inside. For those of you, "of a certain age" make sure you have a flashlight with you after dark. You very well may need it to read the menu.
