We moved from the Bay Area to Reno, Nevada over 5 years ago, and have been on the hunt for a "Mission" style burrito ever since, to no avail. With a trip to San Diego planned, I thought I'd hit the board for tips on really great Mexican food and settled on Super Cocina. What a pleasant surprise - not the surprise of ending up with some really great Mexican food, because I wouldn't expect anything less from Chowhounders. The surprise was the style of Mexican - the hint of cardamon, nutmeg and cinammon in the sauces; the green olives in the rice; the roasted red peppers cooked with the chicken! It was such a wonderful melding of flavors. I wish I would have been more adventurous - there were so many items on the menu that piqued my interest. I was expecting a gut-buster beef burrito filled with beans, rice, sour cream, cheese, etc. etc. What a glorious combination of flavors I ended up with instead. My daughter is headed for SDSU next fall - Super Cocina will be a regular stop during my visits!
