First of all, I would like to thank JO for finding this place.....Absolutely outstanding meal, Possibly the best I have had anywhere and I am well travelled. I was a liitle skeptical when we were asked only for diet restrictions and the menu would be composed for us. It was a brilliant suprise. Our first course was a chilled Scallop tartare topped with Mizuna and served with a dollop of "sweet corn ice cream, yes you read it right, sounds disgusting tastes amazing. It was a brilliant take on corn and scallop chowder. Next we had Cheese Blintzes of Selles sur Cher and peach chutney, it was served with Arugula salad and 75 year old balsamic vinegar, I am a serious cheese head, again out of this world, so simple yet delivers flavor right between the eyes. Entree was Onaga, a japanese variety of red snapper, it was "simply" server with grilled ramps, dessicated yellow roma tomatoes and the sauce was spiced jasmine tea. Best fish dish I have ever had. Dessert simply rocked, the menu said "banana Pain Perdu" which we were told is French for french toast, what we got was Challah stuffed with caramelised bananas, soaked in melted ice cream and eggs, crusted with kellogs frosted flakes and cooked like french toast. It was then topped with buttermilk sorbet and had an orange cardamon sauce. This is by far the best hidden secret in philly, thanks jo whoever you are. We are going back in 2 weeks.
