The Greater Reno Grub and Gripe Group got together at Coney Island Bar for their Wednesday night dinner. This will be a short review because we all pretty much had the same food.
The Wednesday night dinner was a spinach salad, roasted Tuscan pork ravioli with sage butter and sweet corn ravioli with a cherry tomato cream sauce.
I think the concensus of the six of us was that the corn ravioli was excellent and the highlight of the dinner. It tasted freshly picked and off and the cob and was lightly cooked. If you like fresh corn you would like the corn ravioli.
The pork ravioli was also good with the sage butter lightly applied.
I also liked the spinach salad. The spinach was also fresh and tasty.
Three of us got desserts. I got the chocolate cheese cake and it quite chocolaty and not too sweet.
The bill, including corkage, came to $30 each for those who ordered dessert and $25 each for those who did not.
Coney Island Bar is open for lunch Monday through Saturday and has dinners on Wednesday nights.
