Finally got to Rendezvous on Saturday night. Had to wait about 20 min. for our 8:30 reservation, but got a good table and were comped the winter vegetable antipasto because we had to wait. We made short work of the dish--the roasted eggplant puree was wonderful, seasoned with coriander.
Appetizers: Portuguese grilled sardines and potato gnocchi with truffle - didn't try the sardines, but those who did certainly approved. The gnocchi were light and lovely.
Mains: 2 of us had monkfish with littlenecks, 1 pan-roasted skate, 1 grilled salmon. Didn't get a chance to try the salmon; loved the monkfish--the littlenecks cooked perfectly, and though I'm not a big fan of skate, the flavor of the Moroccan spices was great.
Desserts: Warm chocolate cake, pear tart tatin. Only had the tart-dcs seemed a bit disappointed in the chocolate cake, but liked the flavor. Think they were expecting more of a "molten" center.
Place was hopping and it's a bit uncomfortable to have to wait near the door, but service was exceptional- both the server and the manager (?) stopped by several times to check on us, and the overall experience was A+.
