I was in NO from Aug. of 2001-Aug of 2002. I ate at place and I'm trying to remember the name. It was in the French Quarter, near the river (over by the market, I think). It was a old, low-key italian place. I think it was associated or linked with a place famous for its fried chicken (not a chain).
Anyway, I had GREAT oysters on spaghetti there. So much garlic my wife asked where on Earth I had been as I walked into the house (she was about 20 feet away). I also had an unironically named "WOP salad".
Where the heck did I eat?? Is it still there?
Thanks in advance.
(All I remember about the decor was I felt like i was in someone's basement in Maine: the decor dark, wood-ish, and included a lamp with a ship's captain in a S'wester steering a ships wheel. Really)
