I'm aware of the presence of Indonesian restaurants in Elmhurst, as well as a couple in Manhattan. However, besides the standard issue nasi goreng, gado2 (oops, gado-gado), sate, and rendang daging, has anyone found more regional Indonesian cuisines, such as those from Manado, Aceh, Bali, or Sunda, in NYC? I'm posting in the "Outer Boroughs" category because there are more Indonesian restaurants in Queens than the other boroughs, but am willing to go to any of the five if someone has found any of the aforementioned represented. To dig an even more futile hole, there's a sambal from Manado called "dabu-dabu" that involves well, as far as I recall, tomatoes, red onions, lime juice, salt, and who knows which chilies...anyone else familiar?
