Wanted to add this to the earlier thread that is no longer available for some reason.
Just popped in at the still under construction Regal Beagle on India and Chalmers and had a nice chat with the owners. Serious beer dudes- the place should be a huge improvement on the earlier incarnations in that space. 24 taps were unveiled to us, as was a tentative menu that is strictly sausage from a supplier in north county who will be doing "custom" jobs for them as well as regular wursts from his list.
I don't think it would be right to divulge much else about the menu since they haven't officially opened, but it is quite simple and is really an accompaniment to the main feature, beer. Lots of Belgian style, and many others that I've not had a chance to sample. They plan on having a "beers by the can" list as well.
Should be a nice addition to the neighborhood and provide an alternate watering hole to the overpriced Shakespeare's down the street. I'm not going to list their average pint price, but will say that it is significantly lower than the Shakey.
They are being inspected tomorrow, and will be having some soft openings during the evening starting this weekend to get things sorted out.
