so they just opened up a few months ago and i was in the area recently and have made 2 trips... i had a plate lunch craving... *sigh*

as in life in general, i fully believe in second chances...

the first time i was in the area and had the craving, i went and had a mini chicken katsu... i find that L & L is not know for their quality but is known for their big portions... other L & Ls i've been to have big min portions. sadly, the redwood city location did not... it was really a mini plate.... and the mac was one scoop in a small predetermined container. meaning. the mac had already been portioned out into togo cups to add with the meal. so very very sad.... how u supposed to add gravy over mac? odd... ANYWAY I DIGRESS... i was sad after this visit...

this is how my second chance visit turned out:

i ordered a portuguese sausage musubi.. not quite sure that it could be made wrong... anyway, the rice either had been cooked without enough water, or it was suffering from a case of obvious day-old syndrome. the rice had a nutty texture.. rice should be fluffy.... even in a musubi... or sticky like sushi...

then i ordered gravy fries.. have been having a serious craving.. how do you make gravy fries not so yummy? well, you undercook the fries so that when you put the gravy on top of it, it's like... mush...

i'm so sad.. i'm still craving gravy fries.. i suppose i can go hukilau instead the next time im in the area. they make their gravy fries really good. it's not on the menu, u just have to ask for it....

i suppose i won't be going to this L&L location anymore... it's bad enough that i have my cravings, but i think it's worse for me when i try to find a place to satisfy my craving, and then, well, it's not up to par...

odd because other L&L's in the bay are actually more edible and have more flavors.... and yes, i know, i consider it fast food, so i'm not expecting gourmet... so please don't yell at me that i should've known better. i'm already sad enough as it is.... hahaha
