I do want to thank my chowish friends for their fine suggestions responding to my post on where to go around Northridge. As it turned out, events drove us in various directions.
We began in Redlands, scene of high school reunion #45. One wonderful meal there at MU on W State St. Thai food in a very classy setting, indoors and out. One mediocre meal at The Farm on E State St, and one good meal at Ocean Blue (Sushii). This was all surprising to me as Redlands for so many years was the scene of boring cuisine. Or, was this because my parents were making the choices? Anyway....
Then, on to Northridge and Simi. We dined at Paul's Italian Villa in Simi first. This was traditional Italian red sauce and pasta, good service - we found this longtime restaurant to be very delightful.
My sis-in-law was game for Dim Sum so we drove out to 888 Seafood in Rosemead. We were there on a weekday at lunch time and the place was busy but not crazy-busy.. All our regular likes were available - hot and tasty on this day - and the price was right! A good place - I found 888 by cruising the LA Chowhound board, thanks folks..
With my niece and family in Moorpark who are not so adventurous we went to Wood Ranch BBQ. Nice safe choice for them, a bit bland for us, but a good compromise..
