Red Pearl Kitchen--San Diego

Had drinks and dinner at Red Pearl--located in between Oceanaire and Quicksilver (between 4th and 5th) dowtown. Very good food, very good ambience. Same owners as the Red Pearl in Huntington Beach (in fact, Tim and Lisa Goodell also own the highly acclaimed Aubergine in Newport Beach)...very good Asian (Chinese, Thai, Sushi) tapas and entrees offer a wide sampling of delicacies from the Far East....nice, comfortable lounge and bar area where they have plasma TV's showing Bruce Lee flicks while they play W Hotel-esque type of music...nice hip vibe and not annoying. Had the chicken-ginger potstickers, kobe beef satay, and bacon-wrapped scallops. Nice to have a good Asian restaurant downtown, besides sushi bars that also offers a nice ambience without the excess noise of a RA Sushi....crowd was mixed with emphasis on 30+.
