I stopped by here today after hearing praises on this site. Actually my mother has a very sweet tooth and got a good cholesterol count at the doctor, so she wanted to indulge.
The cakes, tarts, pies do look very pretty, but the prices are outrageous. Nine dollars for a cake/tart that is maybe 4 inches in diameter! And $45.00 for a small (7") birthday cake! We split a apple crumb bar which was fresh and good and the only thing under $3.00. Maybe I find these prices ridiculous because I am a baker and so is my mom and we both baked professionally for both the deceased "Our Daily Bread" and later "Cranberry's on Henry" (my cousin's store). If you want pretty check out 18th Avenue "Alba's" and Villabate. Personally, I find Veneiro's raspberry mousse cake delicious and worth the $20.00. And my birthday cake of choice lately is Mother Mousse on Staten Island.Worth the trip for a cake that not only tastes homemade but is beautifully decorated with fresh flowers. Just my opinion.
BTW, there used to be another bakery at their location a few years back, with a different name. Is it the same?
