Happy New Year Chowhounds!
I would appreciate any recommendations for restaurants (are we permitted to also ask for hotel or B&B recommendations?) for our 20th anniversary visit to New Orleans. I have not had the pleasure of visiting since 1985, and fondly recall Cafe du Monde (helped me put on five pounds in a week), Commander's Palace, K-Paul's Kitchen, Mr. B's, Court of Three (? do I have the number correct?) Sisters and a bar, which I think was called "Napoleon," where we were told that the sazerac originated.
While I love revisiting old favorites, hubby has never been to New Orleans and we want the best experience possible. We do already have reservations for Commander's Palace, as it is very special and one of the world's greatest restaurants, in my opinion.
Would love to get some additional suggestions or affirmation that my old standards are still wonderful. Also, best po-boys? Best oysters? Acme, Felix have been recommendations so far.
We'd like a blend of dressy and casual suggestions.
Please forgive any misspellings of local places or foods.
Thank you all.
