I've been asked to take some friends out to dim sum in SF/Berkeley. I had a recommendation from someone, but then heard that the restaurant doesn't have dim sum carts!-- you line up to order your dim sum and wait for it to come.
Knowing these friends, I think they'd appreciate the real experience with cantonese names of dim sum shouted around you and a cart to point at. (This might sound crazy, but that's what these friends are.) The cantonese is crucial because I'll understand it.
Are there any canonical choices for this? Or places I should avoid?
(If you have a place, some vague directions would be great too! I'm from outside the Bay Area so don't know SF at all.)
