Literally for years I've wanted to make a trip up to
Randall's Ordinary in North Stonington, CT, where dinner's cooked in a fireplace according to centuries-old recipes by people in period costume. I'd heard it was remarkably unshticky, and pretty darned good.
Then I came upon the review (linked below) indicating that the original owners have left, and the place is a shadow of its former self.
Their Zagat review hasn't budged, but we expect several year lag-time on Zagat reviews (people often vote on places without stopping to question how long it's been since their last visit...old opinions die hard).
Has anyone else been there lately?
