Julie and I headed up to the restaraunt oasis at Shea and 70th st. In this location are close to ten dining destinations, and a few that are on my "want to try" list, most notably Tapino Kitchen and Wine Bar. I didn't realize this location had so many dining establishments co-located.
Anyway, to the meal, Radda is a small neighborhood bistro. Nicely decorated, probably has about 10-15 tables. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable. I ordered the evening special, which was a Hazelnut encrusted Salmon dish and my wife ordered the Rolled Pork Loin. Both dishes were very good. The Salmon was presented well, had nice texture and the slight hint of honey in the Hazelnut crust was perfect. My wife loved her tenderloin which was succulent, flavorful and had a nice apple touch to it. Both of us were also impressed with the potatoes spiced with rosemary which accompanied our entrees.
One of the main reasons I chose Radda for this evening is that they advertise that they make their own Tiramisu, which is Julie's favorite dessert. Julie's favorite so far has been from Cafe Lalibela. Move over Lalibela, the Tiramisu at Radda was superb. Big portions of velvety smooth, coffee flavored heaven!
Julie and I both really enjoyed our experience and Julie made me promise to bring her back here on her birthday to enjoy her new favorite dessert again!
