A mild nutty and savoury flavour from the fairly plentiful slices of black summer truffles from Umbria in a truffle cheese sandwich. Admittedly the bread and cheese weren't as lusty a combination as the toasted cheese sandwich from Kappacasein, but Quo Vadis' rendition was pretty good on the whole, and there was enough black truffle, despite being the weaker variety to keep things interesting.
Lamb, served in tender juicy pieces, carried a reasonable amount of flavour, with the vegetal contrast from some greens for contrast.
The meringue is an outstanding desert -- warm, with a fragile crunchy shell that cracks and crumbles, and a sticky centre beneath. More crunch from walnuts, baked into the meringue, and a smooth coffee ice cream to recreate the combination of flavours that most associate with coffee cake. Reminded me of a similarly wonderful dessert at Trinity.
Lovely food, perhaps with portions that seemed a little small, and within the realm of reasonable pricing for a place in Soho.
