A quick peak at Junoon

My gf and I had a quick dinner in the lounge at Junoon, a stunning new modern Indian restaurant on W. 24th between 5th and 6th (the same block as Nuela and on the back side of Eataly). We shared a chicken masala appetizer and a lobster tandori entree, as well as an assorted bread basket. The food was wonderful -- the lobster in particular: two large tails charred in the tandori oven and served over a light sauce. At $35, the lobster is one of the pricier options on the menu, but we thought it was well worth it, particularly in light of the portion size. In fact, we were more than sated sharing one appetizer and one entree. And although we have yet to eat in the dining room, we enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere of the lounge. (Note that there is a second, smaller dining room adjacent to the main dining room that looks like it would be perfect for a small party.) This place should be on every hound's radar.
