Quick Lunch between Santa Cruz and Salinas?

Alice Patis | May 24, 2006 07:01 PM

We're starting off our weekend trip by driving from Scotts Valley to Salinas to get to Hwy 101, and I'm looking for a quick place along the way to stop and have lunch. Something in Soquel, Capitola, Aptos, Moss Landing, Watsonville, Castroville or Salinas (we won't be hungry yet in Santa Cruz).

My travel companions are willing to go to a non fast food chain if it's quick and not too far from the highway. So something along Hwy 1 or Hwy 183 would be good. We've been to Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing and liked it, but I think it might take too long for this road trip.

Also, what & where are people's favorite produce stands? I like to plan ahead because if I just look out for signs, hubby will drive right by the stand by the time he understands I want to stop.
